Title: Being Nikki
Series: Airhead
Author: Meg Cabot
Year of Publication: 2009
Genre: ChickLit
My Rating: 4 out of 5
Em Watts is a girl whose brain had been transplanted into the body of the Stark brand’s face, supermodel Nikki Howard. Now living as Nikki for two or so months, Em still hasn’t told anyone that she’s really not Nikki. But when a twentyish something man claims to be her older brother, demanding to know the whereabouts of their mother, Em has a new dilemma on her hands. Furthermore, Em discovers that the company she is forced to work for as Nikki, Stark, has a hidden agenda, and the accident where she ‘she’ isn’t quite as it seems.
Oh, and trying to hint at her best friend from before her death that she isn’t dead and is the love of her life? Well, that’s a whole other dilemma too.
Meg Cabot is an awesome writer, and has written another excellent, though short, series (actually, it’s an Airhead trilogy). Being Nikki certainly isn’t about airhead supermodels and the latest Citizens for Humanity jeans. It’s a bit of a mystery I guess, though with a whole lot more ChickLit!
