Only the Good Spy Young

Title: Only the Good Spy Young

Author: Ally Carter
Year of Publication: 2010
Genre: Spy
My Rating: 4 out of 5

Synopsis from AllyCarter.com
"When Cammie Morgan enrolled at the Gallagher Academy, she knew she was preparing for the dangerous life of a spy. What she didn’t know was that the serious, real-life danger would start during her junior year of high school. But that’s exactly what happened two months ago when she faced off against an ancient terrorist organization dead set on kidnapping her.

Now the danger follows her everywhere and even Cammie “The Chameleon” can’t hide. When a terrifying encounter in London reveals that one of her most-trusted allies is actually a rogue double-agent Cammie no longer knows if she can trust her classmates, her teachers—or even her own heart.
In this fourth installment of the New York Times best-selling series, the Gallagher Girls must hack, spy, steal, and lie their way to the truth as they go searching for answers, recognizing that the key to Cammie’s future may lie deep in the past...."

I read most of the novel in one sitting which was great. The only thing which bothered me was Zach's character (he is too suspicious and should be given a hard kick and slap). Also, the fact that the girls as a group (Macey, Bex, Cammie and Liz) could get most things done unrealistically also bothered me. Perhaps this is due to the fact I'm a very practical person, and Liz being able to hack into virtually any system is slightly unbelievable. Obviously Carter needs to have a way to complete the story and maintain a pace, but a more realistic approach would be more suitable.
Otherwise, the plot was fast paced and the suspense was awesome. There's also a little more information on who Zach is, and his school, Blackthorne Institure for Boys.
If you've read the Gallagher Girls series, then this is a must. Otherwise, if you like spy stories with a a teenage (female) protoganist (i.e: 'Kiki Strike' by Kirsten Miller or 'Spy Girl' by Carol Hedges), then this series is a must.
